Question:
How do I run “Compact and Repair Database”?
Answer:
Under Territory Administrator 2000 SR1.2 file menu for both the Front-End and Back-End files, there are some options. Among these, you will find the option “Compact and Repair Database”. This feature will reduce the size of the program so that is does not occupy so much disk space and data manipulation operates more smoothly. It is recommended that you use this from time to time and especially before backing up your back-end.

Will there be a new Territory Administrator 2001, 2002, 2004, 2004, 2005 in Spanish or English?
Answer:
We understand with that question if whether or not we update our program. And of course the answer is yes. However, we don’t change our 2000 label scheme because the program is compiled using Access 2000, hence Territory Administrator 2000. We do this because we want users who run Office 2000 or newer to be able to run the program.
Question: permalink
Do you have any other programs or applications? For example: A congregation secretary database or a PO’s Public Talk scheduler database?
Answer:
So far we only develop a territory program.

Can I download the older version of Territory Administrator 2000 Version 1.0, or 1.1?
Answer:
No. It has been discontinued.
Question: permalink
Can Territory 2000 Administrator be downloaded to a zip disk, USB thumb drive or burned to CD-R?
Answer:
Yes. Generally a zip disk can hold up to 100 megabytes, USB thumbdrives spaces are increasing rapidily and CD-R, although only recomended for backin up, can hold 700MB. This is more than enough space to download the program to the disk.

Question: permalink
What is the difference between SR1.1 and the newer SR1.2?
Answer:
The older SR1.1 was based on user account security attributes, thus the program featured user level permissions for Territory administrators. For example: A user with administrator rights could create regular user accounts for the congregation members who had printing rights disabled. The newer SR1.2, in addition to the newer updates and enhancements, is not based on user level security, but does have a password option to restrict information.

Question: permalink
When you check out a territory, which option is best, “worked” or “not worked”.
Answer:
You can specify “Not Worked” if the territory was checked out for a given time, but you discover that the publisher never really worked it even though he had it checked out for that period of time. Or you can even choose not to include it in the archive to begin with.
Question: permalink
What is the proper use of the “Census” check box?
Answer:
The “Census” check-box is for keeping status of when the territory undergoes a census. Therefore, if a publisher checks out a territory and they perform a census on it, and then you would place a check for the “Census” checkbox indicating that the territory had gone through a census.
Question: permalink
When I add a new territory to the archive it deletes another territory and I can’t seem to get it back. Why is this happening?
Answer:
The territories don’t acumulate because you are constantly updating the same record istead of *adding* new records.
For example say Territory number 1 was worked.
1.) Click ‘Add Registration’.
2.) Add the dates for both the ‘Checked Out’ and ‘Checked in’ dialog boxes for territory number 1.
3.) Click ‘Add Registration’ to process the record.
The next time the Territory Number 1 is worked, repeat step 1-3.
Repeat this every time, the same territory is worked. This is how the territory archive populates the database.

When I’m ready to print a territory house-to-house report, I get only 1 or 2 printouts with an #error word printed on the cover. Why is this happening?

This error was acknowledged during the design phase and had been fixed for SR1.2. See error image.

Question: permalink
Why am I prompted for a username and password?
Answer:
Your Access is configured for a custom workgroup. You must set Access to the default workgroup. Here are the steps:
If you have Office 2000:
1.) Do a search for the file: “wrkgadm.exe”
2.) Double click it the file.
3.) Click join and browse to the file “system.mdw” which may reside in one of the following directory paths:
a.) c:\windows\system
b.) c:\Documents and Settings\(your login name)\Application Data\Microsoft\Access
For Access 2002 or 2003:
1.) On the Tools menu, point to Security, and then click Workgroup Administrator.
2.) In the Workgroup Administrator dialog box, click Join.
3.) Type the path and name of the workgroup information file that defines the Microsoft Access workgroup you want to join, and then click OK, or click Browse and then use the Select Workgroup Information File dialog box to locate the workgroup information file. Search for the file: system.mdw
The next time you start Microsoft Access, it uses the user and group accounts and passwords stored in the workgroup information file for the workgroup you joined.

Does your program have malicious code? When I open Territory Administrator 2000, I get the following warning message: “This file may not be safe if it contains code that was intended to harm your computer. Do you want to open this file or cancel the operation?”
Answer:
Microsoft® added macro security to Access similar to that in the other office programs like Word. The workaround is for the installation of the latest version of Jet. Also, you can set the macro security setting in Access to low. These two things will make Access act as it did in earlier versions. If you were not previously worried about malicious code in Access, there is no reason to worry now. These settings don’t make Access any less secure. They simply raise our awareness of what could be done in an Access.

Question: permalink
I have Office 2000 running Access 2000 and I have Office 97 running Access 97 installed as well. Why do I keep getting the error message, “insufficient memory or system failure”?
Answer:
You are running the msaccess.exe 97 instead of the msaccess.exe for Office 2000. Solution: Configure the file extensions for mde and associate the file with msaccess.exe for Office 2000 and not 97.
See the Microsoft Knowledge Base article on changing file extensions associations.
