T2K’s Map Section and Street Order
Map Section
The Map Section separates the territory by section by assigning a letter. For instance, if you have Territory 1B and you like to split the territory in two because Territory B is large and you would like to make it easy for the publishers to find the streets and the house numbers. See the following scenario.
Scenario:
1.) Your Territory 10 is very large and the publishers have a hard time finding the streets.
2.) You decide section Territory 10 in 3 sections.
3.) On the map itself, you mark the Territory 10 by drawing the borders for section A, B and C.
4.) By studying the map, you know what streets belong to what section.
5.) Using Territory Administrator 2000, you use the “Map Section” to assign the corresponding letter to the specific house record based street that is inside the section you drew on the map.
Of course, you can decide not to use the “Map Section” and instead create Territories 10A, 10B, 10C. However, you will have to manage more territories that way, for example the ‘checking-in’ and ‘checking-0ut’ process.
Street Order
The “Street Order” option helps sort the list of streets by aa logical order of streets based on the territory map, otherwise the streets will default to an alphabetical list order.
For example: Let us say that a publisher goes to the territory and he comes across the first street named “San Juan Drive”. Then this street will be designated with the number 1 under the “Order” selection. So, the record will indicate “[1] San Juan Drive.”
The second street that the publisher comes across is named “Circus Plaza.” Then it is designated with a 2, and so on, respectively.
Example:
| Without Order (alphabetized): | With logical Order: |
| Circus Plaza | [1] San Juan Drive |
| Red Lion | [2] Circus Plaza |
| River Run | [3] Sol Grande |
| San Juan Drive | [4] River Run |
| Sol Grande | [5] Red Lion |
