Import to T2K Step-by-Step

table1.jpgWhen you open the tables with T2K, you have features that will help you import data from excel, such as Copy, Cut, Paste, Paste Append, Paste Special.   You won’t find an option for a fast, global import.   Therefore, it’s a matter of copying and pasting to the T2K Tables.

1.)   Go to the main control panel to open the tables you need to import to.

2.) Make sure that your excel spreadsheet has the same columns (fields in access) that the T2K table has.   Make sure there are in the same order too.   Make sure that your spreadsheet is sorted by your “territory number” field which sorts by numeric order.

3.) A good rule is to copy a column at a time and then paste on the T2K appropriate field.   Remember, alpha text, cannot be pasted on a T2K numeric field. In addition, if you see T2K’s ID field on any of its tables, you can bypass that field since you don’t have to paste to that field.

As you can see, it might take a little effort to import your existing data.   But with a little trial-and-error, we’re sure you can succeed in making the change to T2K.

Using the Publisher’s History List

History OptionYou create a  publisher by adding their first and last name and their group name in each corresponding box. Then select their type by selecting, elder, ministerial servant, pioneer, publisher or visiting overseer.   You cannot add the same publisher again twice.   This is to prevent duplicates.

You use the history option to build a list of publishers that don’t check out territories anymore.   This helps keep your drop down list boxes clean when creating registering territory.   When you delete a publisher, you will also delete any history archive that is associated with that publisher.

Note: You will want to build your ‘book study groups’ first in order to begin adding publishers.
